crime, cops, comics

Man I am really terrible at writing headlines. Anyway! Today my first in a three part series on the recent travails of the San Francisco Police Department went up over at the SF Appeal. Expect parts two and three later this week and next; I’ll post the whole thing here when it’s complete. The corruption, the FBI, the revoked press passes — trust me, it only gets crazier.

My full Kid Koala piece is up at the Noise Pop site now.

I’m not sure if it’ll run anywhere else, but there it is!

This was a blast to do. Usually I’m forced to report a story separate from drawing it, taking reference photos and notes to work from later at home, but this show gave me the opportunity to sketch the entire piece on site, which I think comes across in the quality of the drawings.

I can only hope more editors give me the chance and space to do work like this in the future.

Hiiiint.

I went to Noise Pop last weekend to report on the festivities, along with some other cartoonists. This is the first page of my piece about the Kid Koala show, which was really wonderful — there are two more pages after this one, all in one long scrolly chunk. It should be up in full at the Noise Pop site soon — I’ll link it here when it’s live.
